S3423DWC, Auto KVM HDMI doesn't work
The Auto KVM feature, which is why I bought the monitor, doesn't work with USB-C DP. When a source that is connected to the USB-C is turned on, it switches to it fine. But when afterwards a source that is connected to HDMI is turned on, it doesn't switch to it. When both sources are connected to HDMI it switched between them perfectly.

You will need to experiment with the different setting options in the S3423DWC Menu- Input Source. Pages 56/57 in the online S3423DWC User's Guide.
