S3221QS, 8-10 second delay to show image, no POST image

Firmware M2C103

Service Tag <Your private Service Tag data was removed from public view. The purchased 1 year warranty expired 1 year/4 months/2 days ago on December 2, 2022. DELL-Admin>

Fast wakeup off or on. Either way, same prob.

Example: I power off computer.

-I wait until Dell S3221QS goes into standby.

-Turn computer on.

-Then ~8-10 seconds lapses before I see an image on the screen and usually it is the windows logo - POST info already gone.

I should see an image within a second or 2.

Tried several (3) high grade HDMI-HDMI cables.

Did do a factory reset a while back.

The S3221QS optimal resolution is 3840x2160 60Hz. But we can see from the online S3221QS User's Guide page 17 that it can show resolutions down to 640x480 60Hz =

As to why the PC is not showing this 640x480 60Hz POST screen is unknown. It appears that the PC HDMI out port is not connecting fast enough to "see" the POST screen.

From the information you described, the issue is with the computer.  You can perform a test with the boot drive removed.  That should  trigger the error "no boot device" and allowing pre OS display.  From there, you can access BIOS settings and verify if any settings may have prevented BIOS options menu and system logo from being displayed before Windows.
