Hello, @FCH
It appears that the Dell Latitude 9440 2-in-1 laptops you’re referring to are experiencing shorter than expected battery life. The battery report indicates that the full charge capacity is significantly lower than the design capacity, which suggests the batteries may be degrading faster than normal.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the battery issues:
Verify AC Adapter Functionality: Ensure the AC adapter is working correctly and is able to charge the battery fully.
Charge the Battery in BIOS Mode: Try charging the battery with the laptop turned off or in BIOS mode to see if it charges fully.
Run Dell Hardware Diagnostic Test: Use Dell’s built-in diagnostic tools to check for hardware issues with the battery.
Check Battery Health Status: Look into the battery health status in the BIOS or using Dell’s support software to determine if the battery is functioning properly.
Update BIOS and Drivers: Make sure the BIOS and all relevant drivers are up to date, as updates can sometimes resolve power management issues.
Run Windows Troubleshooter: Use the Windows troubleshooter for battery issues to find and fix problems with the battery settings.
Uninstall and Reinstall Microsoft ACPI Battery Driver: This can reset the battery driver and sometimes resolve recognition issues.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, and given that the laptops are fairly new, it may be worth contacting Dell Support for further assistance, especially if the batteries are still under warranty. They may provide additional troubleshooting steps or offer a replacement if the batteries are found to be defective.
I hope my suggestion is helpful for you. If you want more details please tell me.
Best Regard,
