Inspiron 5406 2-in-1, support Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus, NVMe M.2 SSD?

Hi,

I replaced the original drive with a 2TB Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus. I can see it here:

But the Windows installation can not see it. The diskpart also shows no disk. Any advice?

Thanks

It's because the SATA operation mode is set to RAID On.  Therefore storage device is configured to support RAID functions.  When enabled, all NVMe and SATA devices will be mapped under VMD controller. Windows RST (Intel Rapid Restore Technology) driver, or Linux kernel VMD driver must be loaded in order to boot the OS.

You can download and extract this driver to a USB drive to load driver during Windows installation  Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Driver_88DM9_WIN64_18.7.6.1010_A00_01.EXE

Or, you can disable RAID mode and NVMe will be visible.

Thanks for the very quick answer :). You're right, it works. I disabled RAID mode.
