RAM slot population on a G5 5000

OEM RAM was a 16GB stick that was in the 2nd slot.  I have replaced it a with a 32GB stick.  I have another 32GB on the way to run dual channel.  I am not sure if I should use the 2nd and 4th slots or use the 1st and 3rd.  I always thought the first RAM installed should be nearest the CPU, so not sure what to do here.
