Inspirion 3880 CMOS Jumper Location?

Inspiron 3880

Inspiron 3880

Hello all, I'm trying to reset the BIOS password on this desktop. I heard that you can do that by jumping CMOS pins. Could someone help me locate them? Thank you!

A couple of ways to do this. You can remove the CMOS battery for about 15 minutes and then reinstall the battery. Or you can press and hold the power button down for 30 seconds then release the button and the system will then boot.

You would not be able to find the jumper pin on this model.

The legacy jumper that enabled a hardware-based RTC reset has been retired on recent Dell models.

Start the RTC reset with the computer powered off and connected to AC power. Press and hold the power button for thirty (30) seconds. The RTC Reset occurs after you release the power button.

If your desktop computer was produced before April 2020, the computer most likely has a jumper based reset. Desktop computers manufactured after April 2020 use the RTC Reset ability.
