Aurora R16, Gen 14 i7, upgrade RAM

Alienware Aurora R16

Alienware Aurora R16

Hi all! I just bought a new R16 Alienware.. Gen 14 i7 CPU, 4070 Ti Super.. and 16gb RAM (lol)

What is the max RAM I can upgrade to? It looks like 64GB is the most the motherboard can handle, but what is the most powerful DDR5 RAM I can install? I saw stats for Gen 12 and Gen 13 CPU's, but not Gen 14.

Thank you!

@hnyr28

nothing about 14th Gen yet...just blanket Intel Core Processors. They need to update their User Manuals for 14th Gen @ least say 13th and 14th Gen.

@hnyr28 thanks! I had seen that, was hoping maybe there was an updated doc showing the Gen 14 CPU's could handle greater MT RAM.

@Prelate The memory supported by the 14gen CPU is definitely greater than the parameters given by DELL, which is because the support for larger and faster memory also has to consider the motherboard, Aurora R16 only has two memory slots, so it can not support the maximum memory given by Intel 192G! A single 32GB memory, you need six memory slots, there is not so much space on the motherboard!

13th generation also supports 192 GB of RAM. But that is what the processor supports, which is not necessarily the same as the chipset/motherboard supports.

You can only reach that in DDR5 boards with chipset support and 4 memory slots, by using 4 x 48 GB memory modules for a total of 192 GB.

To my knowledge no Alienware system that is currently available on the market supports 4 x 48 GB.
