I have a vostro 1510, and i had tried to instal ubuntu.. but there is a lot of problems .. with the mini card wifi dell, the conectivity, the desk .

Do you have a link with a good partition<,

Conexant modem (JF495) driver for the Inspiron E1505

It seems I am out of luck. Thusfar I haven't found a driver for ubuntu 8.04 server AMD 64-bit.

Is there a version for another distro which could work?

OK sorted it

Needed to have it plugged in via ethernet - then go to System->Administration->Hardware Drivers

Theres a drivwer there called Broadcom B43 wireless driver which says 'in use' but the 'Enabled tick-box isnt checked. When I check it it does a download of the drivers (hence need to be wired up to network first)

Then all sorted - marvellous!

I have installed Ubuntu 8.04 myself on my XPS M1330. Everything works except the HDMI video. I have the Intel chipset. Any suggestions?

Dell, will ATI video cards be an option on the Studio 15 and XPS M1530 soon? In this blog entry, you had stated that ATI video cards would in fact be an option on these new systems, but as of today (Aug 8th), this isn't the case. I understand that it takes time to do quality assurance on new parts, and if that is the case, we understand. Please let us know what's going on so we aren't left in limbo. Thanks.
