When is the qx 6850 going to be put into the xps 720 H2C. I know its bieng researched by Dell, but is there any time frame? A month, two months, 6 months? It would be nice to know. I want to buy the H2C now but if the qx 6850, will be put into the computers soon, I will just wait.

I Ordered the Xps 720 H2C with the Overclocked Bin+3 Proccesor.

In this Article are you Telling , Dell Xps current Customers that the Product is ; Available but in a small amount so you might get downclocked , or that the Product is defective and will not work properly so you will take the Product of the Market?

It Seems Strange to me but i Actaully am Buying a Fully Loaded Dell Xps 720 H2C And In the Price , the Intel Core Duo Xtreme Overclocked to 3.73 Ghz is Still in my Detail's for the Order.

It is a shame that Dell dont tell there Sale Managers.

I bought one of these PC on the 28th of July and the couldnt get it confirmed that it was overclocked, the sales manager emailed me confirming that they all where over clocked, but he was only saying this as he was completely unaware of this issue. Which so was I at the time.

I ordered the machine which has now been delayed 3 times and I am now being told that it will be delivered on the 20th September no one has mentioned why and no one has mentioned anything about the over clocking issue.

I have only discovered this by searching online and found this article.

As a business customer who spends over £100K a year with Dell this order for the XPS machine has been unacceptable and I am very disappointed in there cusotmer service.

It's nice for Dell to admit this mistake, but it would have been better for Dell to have done some homework before offering the systems.

Any amateur "enthusiast" with a modest level of experience overclocking Kentsfield processors -- or for that matter, any knowledgable person who simply spent some time studying the subject on overclocker forums -- knows that 3.73Ghz is too high a speed for stable, warranted, 24/7 operation even under the H2C unit. (Yes, there are a handful of "golden" chips that may be capable of this level of performance with reasonable voltage requirements (and heat output), and the silicon is getting better all the time, but those chips are still far too rare to form the basis of an OEM product line.)

This episode demonstrates a shocking lack of knowledge and experience within Dell with respect to overclocking.

QX 6850 COMING OUT SOON (JULY 22)!!....BASED ON TESTING, THIS CHIP CAN BE OVERCLOCKED TO 3.8 GHZ + ON FACTORY COOLING...IT HAS G0 STEPPING INSTEAD OF B STEPPING...TRANSLATION, IT HAS A HIGHER OVERCLOCKING POTENTIAL THAN THE QX6800 OR QX6700....XMAN IS CORRECT...LOOKS LIKE HE DID SOME HOMEWORK....I HOPE DELL READ THIS AND PUT IN THE QX 6850 FOR THE XP2 720!

maybe 3.73 bin +3 can be expected with the new QX6850 chip to be released July 22....hope Dell incorporate this chip (word is that it has higher overclock potential)
