you people who are not linux heads need to learn a few things. go to www.distrowatch.com or www.linux.org

and have a look around.

Yes updating from ADMIN(otherwise known as Root) will update anything that has been released as stable for ubuntu's

OS.

Installing urme-config-belmont won't effect anything but what the app should do, if its already done noth9ing will happen.

There is always a way to manually install apps in every linux OS from the command line in Admin (ROOT)

If you need the install commands ask over at the fo0rums we'll get you going right

that is good to know that the updates will do the needful but what if i m not interested in updates? is there a way to do this without the updates as well. like is there an application that can do it for me????

Gentleman,

I bought a lap top inspiron 1501 a while back. It has been A NIGHTMARE TO GET THE THING TO WORK RIGHT SENSE IT WAS NEW. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING ONE TO ANYONE.
