Direct2Dell Interview with Robert Scoble About China

Folks who are regular readers of Scobleizer know that Robert spent some time in China last month. He had previously visited there 12 years earlier, and not surprisingly, things had changed dramatically. Jacqui Zhou recently published a post on Direct2Dell Chinese that featured this interview. After I listened to it, I thought that some of our Direct2Dell English customers would be interested in hearing Robert's perspective as well.

In the 20-minute interview, Robert covers a lot of ground—he discusses the size and scope of China, the reality of censorship there, innovations that extend well beyond manufacturing, online communities in China and more.

I bought a Dell xps with the idea that I was getting the elite package of service and computer. What a disappointment a bottle of tylenol and two thousand dollars later. I could of gone to wal-mart and got an acer for under 400.00 and received twice the service and the same computer. Please help me understand what happened.I got promised the world and received the absolute worst service experience of my life. The whole Dell experience has been horiffic.I am trying to gain some kind of satisfaction but even adding this comment isnt helping much at all.

I have logged onto the Dell site and was looking for the list of drivers for my Dell Inspiron 6000 which I purchased a couple of years ago from QVC. I have no backup disks to assist me with any problems. Dell seems to ship their online orders (at least that is what I've noticed). Also, I decided to see if there was somone in the Dell Community that could help me but I had to change my logon. When I did, I kept on getting a page that said that there was an error and my logon just sat there with no referecese as to what to do. When I tried going back to the original Community page that I ended up on in the first place I was sent to a Yahoo search page telling me there was no Dell Community. I'm confused by all these changes. It would be nice to receive informatio n through email that things have changed and also a followup on a page where there is no information other than that Dell had an error and my logon was not valid or something to that extent. I'm having difficulty typing, not only because I am disabled, but because I think my registry is corrupted. Is there anything I can do except find another copy of Windows XP and the other software that I paid for in the first place? Can you help? Is there really a community out there? I am homebound and look to the Internet to keep me in touch with life and people. Anyone else have any problems with support or lack thereof? What about community. This is my second Dell computer. I spent enough on it to buy 2 new ones by now. Sorry to sound so sour during the holidays but I just am so frustrated. Really, I'm not a Scrooge...just a person at home in pain. Perhaps I'm feeling sorry for myself but my Mother just died and I feel really lost! Happy Holidays to everyone...everyone deserves to be happy! Datanot
