Welcome to the New Dell Community

If you've been following Direct2Dell recently, you probably knew that there were some changes coming. Recently, we've shared information about Blogs & Registration, Groups & Galleries, Forums & Wikis and RSS feeds.

All that said, we're finally here with the new Dell Community site-a place where all blogs, forums, wikis and galleries will coexist. Our hope is that this level of integration will connect you with people and information that will help as quickly and efficiently as possible-whether you are looking for support, keep up with the latest news from Dell or researching what kind of computer you need to buy.

If you already have a Dell Community Forum account, sign in. If not, take just a minute to create a new account. From there, you can comment, create ypur personal profile, add friends, have private conversations with other members and more.

Teams of people have worked to get us to this point. Still, we know it's not going to be perfect. We look forward to hearing what you like about the new Dell Community site and most importantly, about the things you'd like to see us improve.

Update: I know there are questions out there. We've set up an area for you in the Popular Topics section. Take a look at some of the discussions going on in that forum and  or see several "how to" wiki tutorials.

Lionel, About the navigation problems ... I have posted this statement and asked this same questions in any area that I find. users of the new tech support site simply can not find their way around the site. If a dell customer happens to stumble upon the correct area of the site where the question they have would be appropriate, they can't located a way to ask the question. The current links in the support forums consist of a small text link "Start a new thread". The link is in the upper right area of the visually cluttered page. I suggest that the link be changed to a button with the text of, "Ask a new question". Also note that the eyes of a computer user are drawn to the upper left corner of a web page, and as such I also suggest that is where the 'Ask a new question' button be placed. IMHO, this simple fix will allow Dell customers to be able to ask the questions required to support their Dell computers. With Dell and every other company needing to streamline their business model to cut costs while improving customer support and satisfaction, this simple and small change to the support forum will go a long way in reducing the demand for 'real person' support thus cutting cost and improving support. Can you please read through the site poll at http://communityweb.ins.dell.com/forums/t/19240925.aspx ? To date over 70% of customers responding choose the lowest rating with a vast majority mimicking my statements and requests. Can you please research this problem and report back here or by PM of your findings? ........ Darrell
