DigitalNomads.com - A Community Devoted to Mobility

digitalnomads logo At today's mobility event where we launched several new Latitude laptops and Dell Precision mobile workstations, we also unveiled a new community site called DigitalNomads.com. Take a look at Bruce Eric Anderson's introductory post on the site for a bit more background.

So, why now?  Like Don Reisinger discusses in a recent post, there continues to be a strong trend toward laptops and mobile devices. Lots of folks are out there are connecting to the Internet to work from remote locations—places like coffee shops, conference rooms, airports, etc. Technology is enabling that capability through things like Wi-Fi, mobile broadband, cell phone networks and a host of mobile devices.

Those trends are changing the landscape of how work gets done and how people connect with each other. We hope to foster conversations about these trends and the technology and devices that are driving them.

Hello Lionel, it's been a while so I trust this message finds you well.

Just visited the new Digital Nomads site. I like the design and the crowd sourced white paper is a novel idea. I registered, and browsed around. My immediate reaction -- how are you guys going to populate all these blog sites with new and compelling content?

I'm exhausted just keeping up with the stream of blog content that you already produce online ;-)

BTW, I'm still a fan of the Dell Axim PPC. My second favorite mobile gadget is my Flip Video Ultra

Congrats on a great launch and a great name.

The new line looks pretty promising, but where's the Dell E (latitude mini, etc)?  We've heard an official work in May and not much since.  Leaving my hopes of a Dell entry into the netbook category up to speculative techy sites fueled by rumor.

Any updates?  We're excited about its potential and aren't receiving any fuel from Dell to fuel the fires of curiosity.  I'm going to break down and buy an Ases here soon.

I'm still unable to hit the new website.

Patrick: We had some hiccups yesterday morning, but feel free to let me know if you still have problems accessing the site.
