XPS 630 Desktop Coming Soon

Some of you may have seen some basic details about the XPS 630 during CES 2008.  Shortly after that, we rolled out a teaser campaign for it, similar to ones we had done for the XPS One, the M1730, and the World of Warcraft notebook. This one was the most successful we've had in terms of registrations.

And to those of you who did register, you should be receiving an e-mail that looks like this very soon. Click on it to see a larger version of the image.

Here's the deal. From now until 2/27/08 at 5:59am CST, you can purchase a new XPS 630 gaming desktop with a $479 discount. Just click on the Game On button to configure the system. After the discount, the base system includes the following hardware for $1,299:

  • Intel Core 2 Q6600 quad-core processor
  • 2GB 667MHz DDR2 memory
  • Dual NVIDIA 8800GT cards with 512MB memory
  • 320GB hard drive
  • 16x DVD+RW drive
  • 2-year limited warranty

More XPS 630 product details coming soon.

Building your own computer is the way to go if you want a high performance, good value-for-money gaming PC.

Hi there,

Can anyone give me some advise please.

I am looking for a new tower, know hardly anything about computers. I have new monitor, keyboard etc.

Someone says that they will build one with Windows vista, Core 2 duo, E8400 series 3.9HZ Processor. 320 hard drive, 3 GB, duo DVD/CD burner, and a bunch of other stuff for $999 is that a good price and will that give me a good computer with speed?????

Ta very much

Maggie

I actually bought my XPS 630 last month.....2/26/08...Now it's 3/21/08?

Sittin on 2 delays and betting on another. anyone got any advice? ^^

the spec pages show Yorkfield and Wolfdale in the tech specs, if that is true would be great!

jb77: Yes, stay tuned.

I love the screenshot in this ad... I wish Dell would fully partner with Lord of the Rings Online like it has done with World of Warcraft and bring out themed gaming computers with Gandalf or Gimli or even regular looking characters from the game. Cheers!

greatly looking forward to this beauty in black.

I got the email today. Save one in purple neon for me.

You can find the E8400 at other venders but only sli or crossfire options and a huge markup.

I like to have the ability to change when the wind changes direction in the Vid card offerings.

We need flexability the 630 has what I asked for.

@johnny

I think you are mistaken i have 3 intel q6600 and a Phenom 9600 system all use identical memory and almost identical HDDs BUT the Phenom system scores higher on all benchmarks i have run and also runs vista MUCH faster even though its slower MHz wise

Looks great... but can I configure it with XP Pro or will I be stuck with Windows ME... err, Windows Vista.

It's what stoping me from buying an M1330 or M1530.

 Cheers

@abrarey, I suppose it is basically due to the fact that AMD cannot compete with current Intel processors. They may be cheaper, but their performance is reaaaaaally lower., and XPS desktops aim very high.

Hmm. Included in the price is 320GB? When I "Game On" it says I have 500GB included in the price. I'm loving the black chassis though -- it's mighty-fine purrty. :)

When we are going to see XPS based on AMD Processors. Some customers myself included, are AMD fans since many years, and I think you can get more market from people like me, that only likes to use AMD Produtcs.

For XPS which is supposed to be  state of the art, why are you introducing a new system without Penryn processors?
