Dell (PRODUCT) RED Super Bowl Ad

Even though the Dallas Cowboys won't be playing, I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game. I'm interested to see the reaction to the commercials tomorrow, and welcome your comments here.

Update, February 3: Here is the Dell (PRODUCT) RED Super Bowl ad. The song that's playing is Mick Jagger's "Charmed Life" from his record, Very Best of Mick Jagger.

Beyond that, I saw that Jeremiah Owyang set up @Superbowlads on Twitter to allow the community to rate Super Bowl commercials in real time. Here's his post for more details. Rather than trying to re-create the steps, here's a screenshot from Jeremiah's post that explains how to do it (I hope you're okay with the screenshot approach, Jeremiah!).

Also, just so you know, the screenshot is hyperlinked to the Terraminds page that Jeremiah links to in step 3.

I'll post the Dell (PRODUCT) RED Super Bowl commercial here in this post once it airs tomorrow. We welcome your comments here, and I'll be watching the overall reactions via @Superbowlads in Twitter and the Terraminds RSS feed.

Update, February 3: Some folks are using this Tweetscan feed to track the overall conversation. It seems to be update faster than Terraminds.

I REALLY HOPE THE WORLD HASN'T SEEN THE LAST OF THE DELL (RED) COMMERCIAL!!!

Someone please tell me you're just holding on to it...building the thirst if you will, to re-release it again???! That would be great news.

BTW- Does anyone know the director and lead actor in the commercial. I heard it was shot in Argentina.

That was definitely the best all-around advertisement in the Super Bowl.

GO DELL!!!

Quick question did the original add have Microsoft or Intel Logo's

I don't think anyone knows what RED is. Over the head of 90% of Americans, so commercial was ineffective.

Atleast a frame or two of Bono, patting the guy on the back..

Add some celebrity to it so the cause is recognised.

Is that the m1330 or the m1530?

apa: it's the XPS M1330.

Oh dear - Dell missed the mark again with this commercial.

Dell continue to miss the 'cool' or 'funny' angle with their commercials.  They nailed it once with the Dell dude serires but before and since Dell seem to be unable to deliver a 'cool' commercial.

I wonder is it a poor choice of ad agency or do the Dell managers interfere too much in the creative process?

This ad was a let-down. I personally care not a whit about stupid "red". Talk to me more about (TECHNOLOGY) products and less about your trendy causes. Notice I saw nobody from Africa in that commercial.

Lionel, in that case I approve of the origin!!!

I saw 2 commercials, one for the XPS One (Que Sera Sera...) and one for Red... I think each aired two times.

I figure cost to be over 12 Million... Hope the investment pays ;)

PS Are you ever going to show your stats on Folding@Home ???

Peace

MoneyGuyBK: I re-loaded the Folding@Home app and left it running for two days... never completed a work unit. Later tonight, I'll drop by the thread on Dell Community Forum to see which version I should be running to see if I can start adding to the Team XPS stats.

Thanks for checking. It's something I've been meaning to do, but haven't.

That is Cory Assink.

Join (RED), buy Dell. Better story.

A bunch of marketers from the Facebook group, "What I Saw at the Direct Marketing Revolution," will also be Twittering about the ads during the Super Bowl. Details are here:

Lionel... Thanx for the heads up.

I did not know that Dell would have an ad tomorrow, wonder what it cost ;)  Regardless, is that a Cigar in your mouth (In Your Picture) ???  I Hope it's a Cuban  ;)

 Peace

MoneyGuyBK: You're welcome. And yes, that is a cigar in my mouth—I can't speculate on its origin.

Where is info on the Del Linux computers supposed to be shipping?
