First Guest D2D Blog Post from the Community

A while back, Jeff (otherwise known as CHSIsupplier) from the Dell Community Forum contacted me to ask if I write a blog post about Stanford University's Folding@Home distributed computing project both to raise awareness and to help them add members to Team_XPS. I thought it was a great idea.

Team_XPS is made up mainly of XPS system owners who have gathered on the forum to rally support the Folding@Home project. After reading some of the background that Jeff shared, and doing some research on what this project was all about, I joined the team as well. My XPS 720 is plugging away from home right now.

As I mentioned in the title of this post, Jeff is the first person from the community to do a guest post on Direct2Dell. I look forward to doing more of this in the future.

I am really glad to see you post this on D2D. Stanford is doing some incredible work. I am so proud to see guys like Jeff, Money and the rest of the Dell Community Folding @ Home members driving this. It's like Jeff said, "Who knows, it might save your life one day."

I think this community guest blogging is a terrific idea. It's a great way for the Dell community to share ideas to a more widespread audience. I appreciate you letting Team XPS take the honors and have the first crack at this! Thanks Lionel!

 I wonder what the next guest topic will be.

We are the fastest climbing team of all time.  More than that, we have a great group of people that are willing to help with almost anything.  We have even formed a few online games from this group.  I strongly encourage anyone, whether you own a Dell or not, to join this cause.  Who knows, it might save your life one day.
