Chancellor Merkel in Bunte Magazine

Just received an e-mail tip that I thought I would share with Direct2Dell readers. Bunte featured a profile of Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel. Folks here were pleased that Chancellor Merkel uses a Dell flat panel monitor—from the looks of it, maybe a 17" or a 19".

This mentioned Dell PC is quite common in German institutions, because Dell gives discounts for schools, universities and other public offices. I wonder what OS, the most powerful woman in the world is running on her office PC.

Yours Sincerely.

Lionel:

Maybe is time to post something about the " 2407WFP-HC Ghosting/Shadowing issues... " and the order delay on this monitors.

THANKS!

Angela Merkel even has a Video Podcast on her Webpage

The funny thing is, the title on the page of BUNTE says: "Mrs. Merkel, did being chancellor change you?"
And the first article on the page has the title: "Merkel says bein chancellor has not changed her personally"

He can't even pronounce "nuclear" correctly.

Chancellor Merkel needs our new award winning Dell UltraSharp 2707WFP widescreen flat panel monitor.  The one sitting on her desk today is already a few years old.

I doubt the US President really needs a computer, what with PA's and a whole office working on his behalf, why should he spend time staring at a BSOD, or trying to figure out why Ubuntu doesn't have a Start Menu?

We are however being slightly presumptuous here, just because you've never seen George's XPS lurking inside the desk, that the TV cameras don't show, doesn't mean he's not using one! If the US President did have an XPS sitting there, wouldn't Apple have a few concerns to voice with the Trade Secretary?

Computer Technology is of course becoming more and more fundamental in people's lives, but the growing dependency upon them to run our lives and that people SHOULD understand them is ridiculous, you're essentially stating that OAPs and our older generation MUST pull their thumb out if they are to be part of society and stay in the loop, which is sadly how things will turn out..

WOW! Dell Seriously Rocks!!! Best of luck and I am sure you are getting there... I mean Number 1 Postion :-)

Ask her how she managed to get her monitor shipped!!

I would imagine your president as a XBOX 360 in his office.

Yep, that's a 17" monitor AND a Dell mouse (same one I am using now.) Way to spot Dell in a relatively high profile place!

This brings up a point I've often wondered about. Why doesn't the US president have a computer on his (or potentially her) desk? I think it would send a message to people that technology is an important part of our lives and we should ALL understand it.

What a cool office! I've always wondered, why doesn't our president have a computer on his (or possibly hers) desk? Does it seem overly old fashioned to anyone else?

I think the president having a computer on his desk would send a message that understanding technology is important for everyone in the country. And of course he SHOULD get a Dell!
