I'm in Canada for the mesh 2007 Conference

After a good long weekend with the family, I'm heading to Canada this week. My main reason for the trip is to attend the mesh 2007 conference. On Thursday afternoon, I’m looking forward to being part of a panel discussion called Building a CommunityHow and Why it Matters. Other folks on the panel Jordan Banks, managing director of eBay Canada and commandN co-host/community pro Will Pate. Microsoft's Mark Relph is the moderator for the discussion.

While I’m here, I’ll also be taking part in Third Tuesday with Joe Thornley and others, talking to Dell employees in Toronto and some media outlets about digital media, and will spend some time on-air with David Onley at CityNews over the next couple of days.

Besides sharing these details, the other reason why I’m telling you this is because it will probably impact comment moderation and response for the next few days. I’ll be working sporadically to keep things on track, but it may take me a bit longer than normal.

Later this week, I’ll share my thoughts on how things went here. Thanks in advance for your patience.

I always find it somewhat frightening that certain people like Abe show such a strong, vehement hatred towards a company (read: a group of people trying to sell you a product or service). I'm guessing Dell isn't the only company he hates with an undying passion.

Ruth, I just read your post here on Direct2Dell, and I wanted you to know that I really do appreciate your encouraging words. Both my wife and I are high school teachers, and we wish that we could impart to our students some of your desire to be a "life long learner". Just because learning is at our finger tips doesn't mean that the curiosity and desire to learn is there as well. I think it is wonderful that you have been able to get so many years out of your system and I pray that you will outlive your next Dell computer as well! I want you to know that tomorrow in a high school classroom, you will be used as an example of getting all you can out of life! An early HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!

I hope while you're up here in Toronto you have some good news to announce about offering Linux to Canadian customers!!

lordshipmayhem: Unfortunately, I won't be sharing that message today. If it were true, I would have blogged about it instead of waiting to share it at mesh 2007.

That would be news I'd be excited to share. If there are any new developments on that front, I'll blog about them--no worries there.

Dear Sir:

I just want to say, I purchased A dell desktop computer, version 2002,Intel Pentium,Processor and had nothing but great results with it. It's almost 7 years old and I still enjoy it. I'm 74 will turn 75 years old Aug.23,2007 and my daughter who is 57 says I blow her away because I know more about the computer than she and she is a school nurse. I will purchase another Dell as this one has just about served it's purpose ,that is if I don't luck up and win a notebook. Keep up the good work . Sincerely, Ruth Jenkins
