More on StudioDell

I've mentioned StudioDell a bit since we launched it at CES, but thought it might be worth a few minutes to explain how it's set up in case some Direct2Dell readers find it useful. StudioDell is divided into three main channels: Home, Small Business, and IT Pro. Each channel has three programs that I've summarized in bullet points below.

Please take a look at some of the sample videos. If you have ideas on topics you'd like to see covered, you can e-mail Studio_Dell@dell.com. I'm also interested in your reaction as well, so feel free to respond to this blog post if you have an opinion. I'll share any comments that you have with the team behind StudioDell.

On a side note... soon, we hope to begin accepting videos created by our customers. Still working out some back-end details, but I'll  have an update in the next few weeks.

In your opinion, what's the best movie ever created?

It has been some time since there has been a new post to the IT Pro and Small Business sections of StudioDell.  Is this falling by the way side, or are there going to be some new posts in the near future?

Anybody heard when nvidia will release the geforce go 8800 gtx for notebooks. Or maybe dell will get some high-end ati graphics like mobile radeon x2800 before that. any info will be appreciated.

Thanks Lionel.

Apologies for annoying you with this one, but I have tried to get the information everywhere else to no avail. Right now, its the only thing preventing me from placing an order for one tomorrow. (I dont want the blu ray option to come out a week or two after I place the order especially in light of it being mentioned in the online video in studio dell as being an available option etc)

Thanks Again,

Noel

Noel: I just answered your Blu-ray question with a comment here. Sorry for the delay.

Noel: Don't know the answer myself... will let you know what I find out.

Hi Lionel,

I am somewhat confused by the video provided in this posting for the XPS 710 H2C. It notes that Blu Ray otpical drive is available for it, however it is not in any configuration option i have seen for this product and no one on the sales team in dell seems to be aware of it.

I am hoping to buy the H2C if blu ray is going to be a configurable item in the near future. Will the optical drive mentioned in the report be able to play blu ray movies out of the box with the dual Geforce 8800 out of the box. (If i have a 24inch Dell HDCP compliant monitor). Or will the blu ray drive just be a storage medium only.

I have asked a dell a few times for this information about the advertised blu ray drive at both the sales line and on this blog but no one can provide any firm information. Hopefully you can provide clarity about the availability and movie playing ability so that i can make an informed purchase.

Thanks,

Noel
