That computer is so nice I have to be creative to find a good enough reason to buy one. I also liked that rack they had at that school. At a former employer we had problems with computers not being returned after being on the run.

This rack could maybe fix that?

I did the same search for "Dell Latitude 2100" and only got 606,000 hits.

I have not found the channel program to be a benefit to me. Since the migration to the portal I have had less than acceptible sales support. i have had to constantly send emails and make calls just to get a response from my rep who should want to make sales. I hope it was isolated to the rep and not growing pains for the reseller division.

I just Googled Latitude 2100. In just three days there are 1.7 million (yes...MILLION) mentions of this product online. My favorite comment...."Dell has found a niche in the market that nobody else has."

The T3500 makes absolutely no sense. I can't think of ANY single reason why Dell is putting Xeon processors in the T3500. All previous models in this range, Precision 380, 390, T3400, all used Intel desktop processors instead of Xeon.

Now this wouldn't be a big deal, BUT performance-for-dollar, the desktop versions of these Xeon processors are a MUCH better value. The Core i7 920 is basically the same thing as the Xeon X5550, and costs about $300 compared to the $1000 Xeon X5550, each having 4 cores at 2.66Ghz.

What does this mean? It means you have to pay a $1400 upgrade cost on top the of $999 T3500 to get the SAME processor that comes standard in the $799 Dell Studio XPS 435MT.

This stupid idea by Dell makes the T3500 a dumb buy and a lousy value for your money.
