Aluminum or Magnesium Alloy? Which one is better for laptops?

  • Hi,

I have several customers buying SONY laptops because they have magnesium alloy frame. I keep telling them that aluminum frame is also good on higher end DELL laptops. What is your opinion?

  • Hey Eddie,

I asked around, and my coworker had this to say -

We offer magnesium alloy frames on our Latitude laptops, which are business-class systems. So if they are looking for magnesium alloy frames, we can meet their needs. Aluminum is a great alternative for customers who don’t have the need or want to pay a premium for a magnesium alloy frame. Most of Dell’s consumer laptops, like the XPS line offer aluminum, which is keeps them lightweight, slim and has an outstanding look and feel.

    Does that help?

I can search around a bit more if you need.

    Thanks,
    Emily
