I would like to be able to have custom notification scripts in BB based on disk space. We have a DBA who would like to be alerted at 80%, however we would like to stay in bed until at least 90% or maybe 95%. Is this possible? Also, I would like to be able to take away all the text within the alert, leaving just the hostname and the problem. We have no need for the acknowledge links that are sent with each alert.
You can generate custom notifications from BB management servers that run on UNIX/Linux platforms. Custom notification scripts reside in $BBHOME/ext/pg on the BBServer and are invoked via notification rules that begin with 'ext-', followed by the script name and a hyphen 'scriptname-', followed by an email address. A notification rule for a custom script might look something like:
You can read all about how to create a custom notification script by launching the BBServer online help documentation and searching for "Creating a Custom Notification Script".
Ahhh.. and that is what the documentation left out. it said you can set that stuff up in etc/bbwarnrules.cfg, but never said how to envoke it
