  • Inspiron 1521 XP install

    Just got Inspiron 1521 with Vista Home Basic I want to wipe it out and install my XP Pro CD not a downgrade from Dell Can anyone tell me exactly what drivers and or software I will need from the Dell support download page Would like this to be as hassle free as possible Any instructions would

  • Inspiron 1521 Black Screen

    I ve had my inspiron 1521 laptop windows vista for almost 2 years now and haven t really had any problems Yesterday I was using it and the screen was flickering very little Then it just went black out of nowhere I turned it off and back on then it was fine Today I went to turn on my laptop

    Hi the drivers for the Latitude D531 are the same as the Inspiron 1521 the Latitude D531 is an XP machine I installed XP on a 1521 last week and it worked perfectly with the drivers from the Latitude D531 just be sure to download the chipset driver first hope this helps Terry

    Thanks for the reply I have looked at all the models where Dell still offers XP but the closest to the 1521 is still 400 more I have looked at the 1501 but I can t use it because it s missing an S Video output Besides the graphics are not as good as on the 1521 Any suggestions

    I like the specs price combo on the new Inspiron 1521 but because I am not allowed to run Vista at work and because Vista stinks anyway I am considering replacing Vista with XP on this machine Has anyone tried this What problems did you encounter How did you overcome them
