Laptop isn't turning on when battery is in the laptop

Charge of my laptop's battery is low so i was trying to plug in the adapter to charge up the battery but suddenly came across a problem that my laptop producing a back current and adapter's green power goes off . i tried the following

1. laptop is turning on without plugin the adapter ( if there is a enough  charge in the battery)

2. Laptop is turning on by removing the battery from laptop and plug in the adapter in the laptop

3. Laptop isn't turning on when battery is inside the laptop and trying to charge up battery( here adapter turning off once i plugged it into the laptop )

** As laptop is turning on that means may be there is no motherboard (IC) short circuit issue.

** As laptop is turning on while battery is inside the laptop that means it is not an issue of the battery

*(I think it could be an issue in power jack)

 What do you think the possible issue and how can i fix the issue.
